Summary
This is the most intricate 3D paper project I’ve taken on, and the first that I actually framed. I purchased the original design from Creative Fabrica and modified it slightly, removing a bunch of identical 8-pointed snowflakes and instead substituting various 6-point snowflake shapes from XCS. I used the laser to cut the paper, carefully wiping any charred marks from the edges. I found that assembling these takes some serious patience! Layers that added detail, like the swirls on the background and the petal outlines and veins, I glued to the lower layer with spray gorilla glue. Then I used tiny adhesive tabs to separate and create the depth effect, between the glued layers. I was really happy with the final result, and I gave this as a gift. My attached design file doesn't include all the layers since I purchased it. My file only includes the layers I modified to remove or replace the 8-pointed snowflakes. If you're interested in the pattern I used, you can find and purchase it here: https://www.creativefabrica.com/product/3d-merry-christmas-shadow-box-svg/
