Summary

Materials Needed:

Leather or Leatherette Patches: Ensure these are natural or suitable synthetic materials that can safely be laser engraved. Avoid materials containing plastics or polyurethane (PU) due to health and equipment safety risks.

Blue Painter’s Tape (Optional) To protect the threads and assist in alignment.

Laser Cutter/Engraver: This guide assumes you have access to an Xtool M1 10W or similar capable of engraving your desired design into leather.

Computer Software: Software compatible with your laser, referred to here as XCS for setting up your design. 

Safety Equipment: Proper ventilation, eye protection, and a mask if necessary, especially when working in a confined space.
