Summary
Join the Gnome Invasion by building your very own gnome army, and hiding them around your location! Gnome is 6 inches tall by 3 inches wide, the perfect size for hiding indoors. “What am I going to do with all these gnomes?” We’ve released this project as a means to spread the project. Our intent with this project is to provide a moment of glee to the people that find the gnomes. Imagine, you’re browsing the aisles in your local library, and out of the corner of your eye you see something strange. You adjust your gaze, and find a tiny little gnome giving you the bird. What is this?! Who put this here? Why would they put it here? How many more are there? What do I do with this thing? For that moment, the person has been freed of their routine - that emotion is the intent of this project. 1: Finish the gnomes as you like ; paint them, varnish them, leave them bare - its up to you 2: Hide them around your area - co-workers cubicles, public restrooms, restaurants or anywhere that you think people may run across them 3: post photos of your army of gnomes on social media. Welcome to the invasion. Back of gnome contains a QR code linking to our Facebook group, and small set of instructions - "A playful art project inspired by The Traveling Gnome. Join the invasion by moving this gnome to a new location and posting photos of it on social media" Project file contains canvas to print 8 gnomes on 12x12 3mm thick material ( front and back), canvas for a single gnome on 3 mm thick material, and a canvas used as a template to resize the foot joint pieces. update: my computer could not handle the size of the XCS file with 4 canvases ; I broke it up into 3 files . Single_3MM_gnome - is a single gnome to be cut from 3mm material. template is for those who wish to resize the gnome - or cut from different material. 3MM_Gnome_FInal_1 - is for the true general who wishes to make as many gnomes as can fit!
