Summary
Three layered octopus--mine is painted plywood on a mirrored backing, but it would also be great in acrylic! I cut three layers of the design and one plain circle for the background. I used stick-on mirror sheet for the background for a cool effect, but it also would be fun with a blue gradient! For the design, I used purple, and painted the back layer the darkest and the front layer the lightest, and then used silver on the round part of the top layer, black on the eye piece, and darker silver on the hexagon pieces. Then I glued them together one layer at a time with wood glue (I used clamps), making sure to line up the holes on the back three pieces, and then gluing the eyes and the little hexagons on the front. Happy crafting!
