Summary
This is a versatile technique using the laser to accurately score a tape masking material. Then by selectively removing the mask from portions of the design it can be anodized in sequence. Materials such as niobium are a bit difficult to color directly with the laser, so the masking technique is useful. My settings will also lightly score the metal beneath the tape for a line drawing appearance. This would also work well for etching, painting etc. and it can be used on titanium and stainless steel as well.
