I wanted to make a hat for my brother who, as much as I hate to admit it, has better style than me. I chose a hat that has a wool like finish to it and paired it with an engraved leather patch. The "est. 2014" will need to be edited to whatever year they became a father. I love the look of this hat. I also included pictures of it and a trucker style cap.

I measured my leather patch and adjusted the size of the design accordingly. I used a wood board to engrave my patch on. Before putting patch in I scored a rectangle that was the size of my patch to help me center the design for engraving. You can also just use your framing feature. But be sure to do one or the other so your design is centered well. I taped the patch down with some scotch tape to be sure it did not move during engraving.

Step 3: Clean up patch and place on hat

After the patch is engraved I used a soapy sponged to clean up the patch before putting onto the hat. I used super glue to attach the patch to the hat. Enjoy!
